Grand Caribe Resort is located on the island of San Pedro Town. It opened its doors in 2008 with the last units being opened in 2010. The resort has two and one pools on its property. These pools are salt water pools which uses a special chlorine generator. The salt water system is popular because it is much gentler on the skin, face, eyes and clothes and will not turn hair green. Another benefit of using the salt water system for pools is that the pools do not have to be closed for cleaning. The generator breaks down Sodium chloride and separates the salt from the chlorine to maintain the pH level of the pool.
