The Lab Theatre is a blackbox theater located at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The theater is located in the lower level of the Chapel in an area where Hiemenga Hall, the Spoelhof Center, and the Chapel merge. It was built during the Chapel construction project and opened in 1988. It serves as one of the two main stages for the Calvin Theatre Company and also provides other Calvin events a venue with which to hold them in. The Theater measures in width and length and has an 18' suspended lighting grid. The theater is equipped with a computerized lighting system as well as a flexible sound system. The Lab can hold approximately 250-250 guests. The theater is conveniently connected to the scene shop.
