Golden Spread Gem and Mineral Society

The Golden Spread Gem and Mineral Society (GSGMS) is an Amarillo "Rockhound" group that is passionate about all things related to gemstones and minerals. The GSGMS meets the last thursday of every month to plan field trips, upcoming shows, and outreach. The GSGMS offers free instruction to members, as well as scholarships to Mineral Sciences students, and puts on the largest Gem Show in the Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma Panhandle, and Eastern New Mexico in the Amarillo Civic Center every November.
GSGMS' current President is Roy Finley, who boasts a large collection of uncut gems that rivals the 250,000 lb collection of GSGMS Treasurer Dee Hawkins. The Texas Panhandle's Who's Who List boasts additional GSGMS members; Wanda Finley, Show Chairman and GSGMS Editor, Seger Jenkins, Silver Smith, and Walter Willis, Gemologist.
