"Go into the Water" is the second song from the debut album by the death metal band, Dethklok, titled The Dethalbum. The song is about the human race forsaking land for oceans, devolving back into beasts and living in the water as well as conquering the land for the rest of time. It was first mentioned in "Dethkomedy", as a number of people attempted to sue Dethklok after listening to the song and subsequently attempting to breathe underwater. In the same episode, they were acquitted as the album was labeled as "intended for fish only". Its first actual appearance on the show Metalocalypse, which is about the exploits of Dethklok, was during the final episode of the first season, titled "The Metalocalypse Has Begun". They had previously refused to play the song on stage but eventually gave in to fan demand to perform it live despite the song being unintended for enjoyment by humans.
