Global Virtual Performance is a new form of song or opera production created after emerging the 2020 coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) in an effort to overcome the physical and social distancing restriction necessitated in most countries across the world. In this style, the singer(s) and the musicians connect virtually, preferably synchronously, and try to produce a virtual version of what they would have created if they were together in a single physical space. The first pop music clip of this kind was published in April 2020 by Kelly Clarkson and others in six languages. Another example is "Beyond the Quarantine" by Homayoun Shajarian from Tehran, Abeer Nehme of Lebanon, and the musicians from different parts of world in June 2020.
