Glitter Chariot (formerly Chariot) is a glitterglam rock ensemble somewhere between the Muppets and Alice Cooper. They formed in 2002 as a "temporary" rock outfit planning on shaking the city of Tampa for one wild night only. Instead the band continued, flourished, and expanded, taking on several different members. Aside from tried-and-true members including a drummer, a lead vocalist and guitarists, the band also had its share of stellar bassists, keyboardists, euphonium players, and Chariettes . Highlights of the band's tenure: a fully suspended performance from the ceiling of an art museum, a tour through America's midwest, several performances in Florida and Georgia, and audio recordings that quickly disappear to the groping hands of their fans.
Influences/guiding lights for the band include David Bowie, Gary Glitter, Iggy and the Stooges, the MC5, and the Electric Light Orchestra.
