The Gizmondo 2 is the follow up to the Gizmondo handheld console released by Tiger Telematics in 2005. Tiger aimed to release the console in 2008. It is now planned for a 2009 release with smart phone functionality. According to journalist Hans Sandberg, the Gizmondo 2 design is very similar to the first Gizmondo, but includes a newer version of nVidia’s graphics chip and a new battery.<ref name="hs" /> It will come with either Windows CE 6.0 or Google's Android operating system.<ref name="hs"/> The system will be open, so that one can run any Windows CE game or emulation on it. The user will have to choose between CE or Android.<ref name="hs" /> Reports on the new Gizmondo have stated that it will feature Wi-Fi as well as the most up to date Augmented reality funtionality.
