Girish Ramachandra

Girish Ramachandra is an Indian entrepreneur and author born in Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district in the Indian state of Karnataka.
As An Author
Girish is the author of a novel, A Report on the Lost Soul.
Girish published his first novel, A Report on the Lost Soul in June 2015. It explores the influence of globalization on its protagonist. The protagonist grows up in a village, becomes a part of India's information technology boom, creates wealth early in his career, which no previous generation of his family has seen. Story of this book reflects on his experience as an entrepreneur, observation of other entrepreneurs with added imagination.
Currently, Girish is researching social change that IT has brought to Indian society. He is an active blogger and speaker on that subject.
Early Career in the IT industry
Girish started his career with NITK Surathkal as an assistant professor in the department of Electronics and Communication. Later, he joined Satyam Computers. He was one of the first team members, which started SAP practice in Satyam Computers. After 2 years with Satyam Computers, where he mostly spent his time in Germany, Denmark and Australia on SAP consulting assignments, he co-founded Entelligentia with four of his colleagues from Satyam. Entelligentia, base in Pune, which focused on building on wireless interface solutions and e-commerce portals, was acquired by Ivega Corporation based in Bangalore, in October 2000.
After Entelligentia got acquired by Ivega, Girish moved to USA as one of the engagement managers for Ivega. After 3 years with Ivega, Girish joined Raghurama Kote as a co-founder of Iteamic in 2004. During his years with Iteamic, Girish was managing US operations for the company and also pursued his Executive MBA at Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley, which was held in collaboration with Columbia Business School. Iteamic was later acquired by Ciber Inc.
Personal life
Girish was born in Panaje, a village near Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district, in the Indian state of Karnataka. He grew up mostly with his grandparents, got his primary education in government schools and completed his engineering at K V G College of Engineering.
During his growing years, he was deeply influenced by authors like S. L. Bhairappa, Yashawanta Chittala, Shivarama Karantha, U R Ananthamurthy, D R Bendre and more. He grew up dreaming to be a writer.
Girish Ramachandra is married to Asha Kuloor and has two daughters. He currently lives in Bengaluru and continues to work with SpiderLogic India, an IT firm. His father is a retired agriculturist and his mother is a homemaker.
