History
Scott Weston Wolford wrote Gino the Minnow in 2005 to empower kids to do something positive about what troubles them. Kids can certainly identify with being small and feeling insignificant like Gino the Minnow. Sally the Starfish encourages Gino the Minnow to solve his problem through encouragement and also allowing him to think his way through it. In this book, Gino the Minnow faces the problem of how he can help with environmental issues that we are all faced with. Scott Weston Wolford thinks that too often kids are not given the opportunity to problem solve. The vivid illustrations help Gino the Minnow's story come alive. The illustrations allow even non- readers to see the story without words. Gino the Minnow is the first in a series of environmental children's book, with Larry the Litter Slug to follow.
Scott has worked with children most of his life and wanted to share his love of nature and the environment with all others. Children see the world differently then us adults and Scott hopes to connect with children through Gino the Minnow. Scott encourages everyone just like Gino the Minnow to please help keep our water areas clean.
The book has been popular since its publication.
Gino the Minnow is in its first edition stage. It has also been translated into Spanish.
