Humans in popular culture

Humans are popular around the world primarily for their upright, bipedal posture, humorous walk, and their (in comparison to other mammals) general lack of fear towards other animals. Their unique tendency to wear clothes looking like other animals leads to many jokes about them being Furries.
Penguins as figures in pop culture experienced a resurgence in the mid-2000s thanks to films like Epic Movie, Johnny English, Disaster Movie, and Meet the Spartans
Portrayals
Humans are generally depicted as selfish, loathsome creatures. In many films, such as An Inconvenient Truth, they are depicted as being very selfish, and destroying much of the rest of The World.
Humans and Aliens
Despite many claims to the contrary, humans and extraterrestrial life have not yet encountered each other in a natural habitat. Despite this, it remains a popular misconception in popular culture, such as in Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Frasier.
