Gina Raimondo

Gina Raimondo is a venture capitalist who is seeking the 2010 Democratic nomination in the election for General Treasurer of Rhode Island. Raimondo was a founder of venture capital firm Point Judith Capital and currently serves as a General Partner.
Biography
Raimondo grew up in Smithfield, Rhode Island. She attended high school at La Salle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island. Raimondo graduated from Harvard University with a bachelors degree in economics(where she was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship), Oxford University with a doctorate in economics, and Yale Law School. Following law school, Raimondo worked as a judicial clerk in the Southern District of New York and later moved to Rhode Island to start Point Judith Capital.
Gina and her partners at Point Judith Capital have created jobs in Rhode Island by helping to build diverse companies including NABsys a Providence DNA research company.
Raimondo serves as Vice Chair of the board of Crossroads RI, the state’s largest homeless services organization and played a key role in launching a new shelter for women. She is also a trustee at Women & Infants Hospital, and has served on the boards of Family Service RI and LaSalle Academy.
Raimondo currently lives in Providence, Rhode Island with her husband and two children.
