Gimmix

Gimmix is a Music Player Daemon client written in C for Linux and Unix systems. In an illustration of the advantages a client/server architecture for music management and playback, Gimmix uses a two window design, with the main window containing only playback and playlist controls, and implementing a second window for library searches. This makes it very fast to start up and can be used as a simple client to control playback and browse the playlist, possibly alongside another client for performing elaborate library searches. Gimmix also has a small memory footprint and can be left open all the time for its notification area icon and notification support.
