Gia Jichonaia

Gia (Giorgi) Jichonaia (; born May 26, 1969; Zugdidi, Georgia) is a Georgian poet and writer. Writes in Georgian and Megrelian languages.
In 1993 he graduated from the Faculty of History of Tbilisi State University. In 1989 he published the first collection of poems "I wanted to pray". In 2004 he published a collection of sonnets "Love Sonnet".
In 2014 were published 4volumes from the cycle The chronics of the heartbreaking spectacle of human existence
"Letters to Happiness" (sonnets). "Baths of the Moon" (poem in prose).
"The Illusions of Twenty-First Century Women." (Novels).
"The Last Walk". (Novels, short stories).
"Golden Age", lyrical drama. Poems, sonnets.
In 2020, "Colchian Kirbs", "Elegies of Loneliness" and "Robes of Keria" were published, which was awarded the Writers' Union Prize.
Gia Jichonaia created a new form of poetry called Kirbis. Kirbes was first written in Megrelian, then translated into other languages.
The Ukrainian translation of the book Colchian Kirbis was awarded the highest prize of the Davit Guramishvili International Prize for Ukrainian-Georgian Cultural Relations in Kiev in 2019.
Ilia Chavchavadze Prize was awarded to Kirbes in Tbilisi. In 2021, Gia Jichonaia's Megrelian Kirbis, Sonnets, Robayas and the collection "From Past to Future" were published in Tbilisi.
In 2021, the English translation of the Colchian Kirbs was published in France (published by edidion999) Gia Jichonaia's Megrelian Kirbis have been translated into Georgian, Russian Language, English, French, Italian and Circassian languages.
