Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Online is a first-person massively multiplayer online game being developed in South Korea by Nexon, set in the Ghost in the Shell universe originally created by Masamune Shirow. S.A.C. Online is described as a "first person shooter game featuring fierce hacking battles between cyborgs fighting over strategic resources". The game is confirmed to borrow elements from all three previous Stand Alone Complex animations, including the original season, S.A.C. 2nd GIG and Solid State Society. Development The game was announced on December 2012 alongside the Ghost in the Shell: Arise OVA series. According to Nexon, it is expected to make a global release in early 2014 on Microsoft Windows with other platforms undisclosed.<ref namevg247 /><ref namemmoculture /> On July 29, 2013 it was announced by Kazuchika Kise during an interview that S.A.C. Online would be released shortly following the release of the third Ghost in the Shell: Arise "Border" (episode).
