Gey-freezing State Reserve

The reserve of Gey-Freezing is oldest of Azerbaijan. It was created in 1925. It is certainly the best infrastructures to accommodate the tourists. It is located along the border of Georgia, on the slopes of the lesser Caucasus, and protects on 7.000 from the zones from medium mountains and subalpine of a great value. The low part is much drier and arid. The lake Gey-Freezing (“blue lake” in Azeri), which gave its name to the reserve, is largest and the most beautiful lake of the mountains of Azerbaijan. It is located at an altitude of 1.556 Mr. The mammals are numerous and several endemic subspecies are noted. |
