Gerard Lough

Gerard Lough (born May 14, 1978) is an Irish director of short films and music videos. His first feature as director, Night People, was released in 2015.
Early life and education
Lough attended North West Regional College in Derry, graduating with a diploma in media studies. After an internship with an American advertising agency, he began making short films independently.
Career in filmmaking
He is best known for working in genres such as Horror and Science Fiction. His most high-profile work, The Boogeyman (2010), an adaptation of a Stephen King story, received positive reviews and extensive press coverage on the film festival circuit.
In 2012 Lough was awarded 'Most Exciting Breakthrough' in the directing category by Horror Cult Films. He then released 'Ninety Seconds', a futuristic neo-noir about a surveillance expert.
In 2013, Lough began work on a full-length film project, entitled Night People. The filming, all on location in Ireland, was completed in August 2014, and the film was released in cinemas in 2015.
The following year he returned to music videos with promos for new bands such as Electro Kill Machine and Voynich. He is currently working on his second feature film, a neo-noir thriller called Spears.
