Gerald Thompson Mutton (15 June 1922 - 3 November 1943) was a warrant officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force working as an air gunner in No. 426 Squadron RCAF. During his time in the RCAF he earned multiple ribbons which included the Memorial Cross upon his death. He was killed during an attack mission at Dusseldorf, Germany when he and his crew, flying a Lancaster II DS-713, failed to return from the operation. He is buried at the Rheinberg War Cemetery. His name also appears on the Second World War plaque posted on the cenotaph at Memorial Park in Brighton. Born on June 15, 1922 Gerald was the youngest child and only son of George Esley Mutton and his second wife Mabel Thompson, and had one sister Anna Allyne and four half-siblings from his father's first marriage.
