George Sartiano

George Anthony Sartiano was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1971. In the late 90s, Sartiano worked on over thirty movies as a world-leading costumer while working for Global Effects, Incorporated. He made contributions to The Core, The Last Samurai, The Day After Tomorrow, Planet of the Apes, Black Knight, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer , and Charmed. Other work by Mr. Sartiano can be seen listed under his name on the Internet Movie Database.
George attended Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina where he ran on the 1988 State Championship Track Team with Jay Gabbard, Hugh McLean, Chris Cusack, and Lethon Flowers who later played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Peter Boulware of the Baltimore Ravens, and Tyrone Leggette who played for the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At one point, Sartiano was ranked #52 in his age group by the South Carolina Tennis Association.
Although he has attended many colleges and universities, including East Carolina University where he double majored in English and History, The University of North Carolina School of the Arts (and does not approve of the recent name change) where he was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts if Filmmaking, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he received a Masters degree in Art History, Theory and Criticism, and Indiana University where he received a Masters in Communications and Culture.
After graduating from Film School, he moved to Los Angeles and began working on Paramount Television's Hard Copy. Over the next few years he worked on many projects, in many different positions. Most recently he worked for Christopher Gilman as Manager for his company Global Effects, Inc., and as a Production Supervisor on music videos for entertainers such as Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, The Exies, The Donnas, Kelly Osbourne, as well as and commercials for companies such as Cadillac, Nintendo, KMart, and Hardees.
In addition to his Hollywood work, George, also known as Duke Alaric Sartiano, is a world class SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) sword fighter, and has served as King of Caid.
George currently works for Butter NC, the North Carolina location of the Butter restaurant/lounge chain. He lives with his small dog Ty (named for Tyler Durden in Fight Club), in Charlotte, NC.
George has two brothers: Gregg Sartiano and Scott Sartiano. Gregg is a recording engineer living in Los Angeles who has worked with artists such as Ray J and Warren G. Scott is a club and restaurant owner living in Manhattan, who currently owns celebrity hot spots Butter and 1OAK. Gregg has recently taken a position at School of Communication Arts, and in the audio department.
Most recently, he has founded OverstockAds along with Shafi Mustafa.
