Georg Rendl Symposium

The Georg-Rendl-Symposium is realised by the Georg-Rendl-association in collaboration with St. Georgen bei Salzburg and Bürmoos since 2003. Dr. Andreas Maislinger chairs the scientific leadership.
In the aftermath of symposia concentrating on relations between writers and the rural population (2003) and priests’ vocations in the German-speaking area (2004), the 3rd Georg-Rendl-Symposium (2005) put its emphasis on the life of the painter and writer Georg Rendl.
Georg Rendl’s “Bienenroman”, published in 1931 by Insel Verlag, was the writer’s biggest success besides the “Glasbläsern von Bürmoos”. In 2008, the 6th Georg-Rendl-Symposium therefore dealt with literature and research connected to bees.
