Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium is a future multi-use stadium in Surabaya, Indonesia. It will be used mostly for football matches and another sports. And it will be the new home stadium for Persebaya Surabaya (if allowed) and maybe the alternative stadium for Indonesia national football team. The stadium will have a capacity of 73,500 people or more. It will be the second biggest stadium in Indonesia after Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta and one of the biggest in Asia.
Currently, the stadium is beginning its construction. The model of the stadium is almost like Hongkou Stadium in Shanghai, China. The government has it constructed quickly, so it will be done and it can be used in 2009.
The stadium will cost at least 438 trillion Rupiah to build, or approximately US$48.7 million. It will be the one of the expensive stadiums in Indonesia and in Asia.
