Ged Dalton

Ged Marcus Dalton (born 30 March 1990) is an English footballer who plays as an Attacking midfielder, Winger or Forward for Pickering Town in Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division. He is from Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire.
Career
Scarborough
Dalton came through Scarborough Football Club's youth system. He made his debut in the Under-19 team at the age of 14, made a number of reserve team and County Cup appearances in the 2005-06 season and featured in pre-season first-team games prior to the 2006-07 season. He made his first-team debut for Scarborough when coming on as a substitute at Kettering Town on 16 September 2006 in a Conference North match. Dalton became Scarborough's youngest ever scorer when he netted at Hyde United on 9 December 2006. In total he made 16 starts and 16 substitute appearances for Scarborough, scoring 4 goals. Scarborough were liquidated on 20 June 2007.
Carlisle United
In the summer of 2007 he signed for League One side Carlisle United. Although he was a regular in the youth and reserve team for Carlisle he was released by manager John Ward on 21 March 2008 by mutual consent.
Blyth Spartans
Dalton made his Blyth Spartans debut on 29 March 2008 against Kettering Town. He scored his first goal for Blyth against Worcester City on 12 April and was part of the squad that finished runners up in the 2008 Northumberland Senior Cup Final against Newcastle United Reserves. By the end of his first season he had played seven games, scoring two goals. In the 2008-09 season he started brightly and then suffered an injury. He made his return from injury as a substitute in the FA Cup 2nd round replay against AFC Bournemouth and announced his return with a bang. In the 89th minute fellow substitute Andrew Wright took on the right fullback of Bournemouth sending over an inviting cross that was just too high for Robbie Dale but was well anticipated by Dalton. He volleyed home the cross beyond goalkeeper Shwan Jalal, sending the 4,040 Croft Park crowd wild and entering Blyth Spartans folklore. The goal set up a mouth watering tie against former Premier League champions Blackburn Rovers.
Whitby Town
Upon his release from Blyth Spartans at the end of the 2008-09 season, Dalton signed for Whitby Town and was reunited with his former Blyth Spartans manager Harry Dunn.
North Ferriby United
Dalton signed with NPL Premier Division side North Ferriby United for the 2010-11 season, but left after only three caps for The Villagers.
Returning to Whitby Town
Ged rejoined Whitby Town for a second spell soon after moving from North Ferriby United. However, he left the club after one season in which he made 35 appearances.
Northern Counties East League
After moving from Whitby Town, Dalton signed for Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division side Pickering Town during the 2010-11 season winter break. He decided to find another club after fourteen matches and four scored goals for this side and joined Bridlington Town. He returned to Pickering the following season and made his second club debut as a substitute in a 5-0 win over Nostell Miners Welfare on 28 January 2012. Ged also featured in ESPN UK's FA Cup titles.
