Gavin Prunty, (born 3 October 1983 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish professional boxer who fights in the welterweight division. Professional career Debut Prunty was to initially fight Murray Cunningham in the USA at the Dorchester Armory in March 2009 on card a with fellow Irish fighters Gary O'Sullivan and Patrick Hyland but his fight fell through. The following month in April he turned professional against Ibrar Riyaz in Salthill, Galway, Ireland but the Albanian caused a shock by beating the Dubliner in his debut. At the end of his first year he was nominated as one of Irish boxing best newcomers. |
