Gaurav Singhvi

Gaurav V. Singhvi (born 1 February 1976) is a qualified Chartered Accountant and the Founder and Creator of "The Financial Supermarket". It is a diversified corporation covering verticals such as Debt Syndication, Equity Syndication, Management Advisory, Carbon Credit Consultancy, Internal Audit, Company Law Advisory, Subsidy Advisory, Financial Advisory and Re-engineering and Outsourcing Services.
In addition to entrepreneurship, Gaurav Singhvi is an avid reader, an extrovert person who loves to connect with people, explorer who has travelled almost every corner of the world, an active blogger who holds insights on various economic, social and political issues and has worked for various social and economic causes. He has tried to make a dent in the society through his dynamic approach in life. He is associated and actively involved with various Social, Business and Professional groups and Clubs, NGO's. He loves attending various conferences and summits at National and International Levels to stay updated on every front and aspects of life and also profession. He has continuously served as the chairman of various committees at The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) during 2010-2014. Being an active member he provides his unconditional aid in various International Level Flagship Events to promote Economic Development of the country. He was also the President of Jain Social Group Samanvaya, Surat.
Early life
Gaurav Singhvi was born in Kota on 1 February 1976 to a Jain family belonging to Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. He is the first of two children born to his father and role model Mr. Vimal Kumar Singhvi and his mother and strength Mrs. Kusum Singhvi.
As a child and teenager, he was quite inquisitive about current affairs and various ideologies and theories of remarkable men in the World History. Basketball and Football were his favourite sports and even today if his schedule permits he likes to indulge in sports activities. He had an outstanding childhood with his friends and relatives, but, the memories which he cherishes the most till date, is the time spent with his mother. She not only inculcated in him the basic values of life which he practices even today, but she was also like a guiding light for him towards his enlightened future.
Gaurav is an alumnus of St. Paul school, Ajmer and later attended a Government College in Ajmer. He held various positions during his school days as Class Representative, School Captain. He was also awarded with the title of "Best Boy" by the Lion's Club during his school days. Even during college days he served as the President and Cultural Secretary which exhibits his proficiency in leadership and management. His teachers always described him as a versatile student who apart from academics was also a keen debater.
Gaurav's parents arranged his marriage at the age of 23 to Dr. Nidhi Bhandari. Dr. Nidhi as an astute student was a gold medalist in BSc (honors). She has done her MBA with specialisation in Human Resource from Rajasthan University. She holds a doctorate in Management. Currently, Dr. Nidhi is a lecturer in a University. The couple has two sons Yash and Shaurya whom they love dearly. They do their utmost in raising them as responsible citizens of India and good human beings.
Career
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with an exceptional academic record. Soon, after being conferred upon with this prestigious degree of Chartered Accountancy he began his career with the Country's biggest corporate house where he served in the Middle Level Management with a rich and extensive experience in the field of Excise, Export and Management Accounting. He was associated with this Multinational Corporate for 4 years. Gaurav's venturesome trait can be seen in his various life decisions. One of such incident was when he within a week of his elder son's birth, stepped down from his well settled position with this company and started with his own firm, "Gaurav Singhvi & Associates", in the year 2003 in an entirely new city to create a niche for himself which he even today claims to be the turning point of his life. He also founded an outsourcing company (Singhvi Consultants) in the same year which is currently under "The Financial Supermarket". Gaurav, right from the beginning of his career was a visionary man and always believed in seizing opportunities and to make the right decisions without compromising on his honesty and integrity.
With all his proficiency and perseverance in the field of Debt Syndication and Corporate Advisory, he stepped into the next big milestone of his life by amalgamating his firm with another emerging firm led by highly skilled professionals in the field of International Taxation, Tax Advisory and Audit Assurance in the year 2007 into GSV & Co. for attaining higher goals.
Rise to Success
Inspired by the ideologies of Steve Jobs, Gaurav always aspired to "Put a Dent in the Universe". The journey started as a self-employed individual which later grew to a team of over 400+ committed staff within a short span of 12 years.
In 2002, he started with The Financial Supermarket, headquartered in Surat, Gujarat. It constitutes of more than 20 firms and companies having various branches PAN India and also boasts of an overseas office, in the vital international business hub of Dubai, UAE and Singapore, Asia. This group provides 360° solutions in diversified areas of financial services and till date has served more than 65 sectors and has 2000 plus satisfied clients.
His owned building, "The Financial Supermarket Tower" is amongst the few in equals, to own a space of 30,000 Sq. Ft. built-up area. It also owns more than 35,000 Sq. Ft. built-up area in various work premises of the group towards a professional industry. Gaurav aspires to take The Financial Supermarket, to an international level and be recognised as an "India Focussed International Advisory Group".
He achieved his next big milestone in the year 2014 by taking professional industry to a larger level by going online through FinMart.com.
Work Philosophy
Gaurav is a strong believer of the motto, "To be the finest steel, one needs to pass through the hottest fire." He understands the importance of team spirit and considers his team to be the backbone of the institution.
Quality is not negotiable for Gaurav as well as for his team who believes in "Total Quality, Total Excellence". He believes in the words "Go Beyond" which signifies breaking of stereotyped thinking.
Gaurav looks upon Mr.NR Narayana Murthy, Founder of Infosys, as his business idol who created a large value based company from a very small firm, which is system and value dependent and not person dependent.

* Bestowed with the title of Youth Icon as per one of the highest circulating (Audit Bureau of Circulation) vernacular newsprint of Gujarat, India.
* Was featured in Friday 5' 2012 Fortuner list of the conventional business entrepreneurs in the city Surat.
