Gander Green Lane

Gander Green Lane is a long lane in the London Borough of Sutton. It contains Borough Sports Ground and West Sutton railway station. It is 1.6 miles long, and is punctuated at either end by , and Fitness4Less. The A217 intersects it right the way down the middle; to Gander Green Lane's west is St. Dunstan's Hill and to its east is Oldfields Road.

Working from the north (St. Anthony's Hospital), the junction where the A217 and Gander Green Lane meet contains a parade of shops starting with the offices of Liberal Democrat Paul Burstow, and on the other side a pub called "The Gander Inn" which was recently refurbished and re-branded as a goose pub.
South of the A217 is Gander Green Allotments, an area which backs on to Collingwood Road that contains over 200 plots. On the other side is St Albans Church Hall, which is used by North Cheam Academy of Dance and tinylittletinkers, a chain of pre-school education and day nurseries and which is unrelated to St Albans Church a bit further down opposite "Collingwood Recreation Ground", a 6.88 hectares (approx. 17 acres, 0.0688 km ) grassed open space which contains a playground, a small skate park and a ball park which in Spring 2009 was revamped with new basketball hoops by the local council after consultation with the local community.
There is a pub called "The Plough" a bit further down punctuating a small parade of shops which ends with Day's Convenience Stores, which in June 2013 became the scene for an armed robbery. On the other side is Borough Sports Ground Right at the end of Gander Green Lane is a branch of Fitness4Less.
Transport
The 413 bus goes straight through Gander Green Lane, while the S3 goes through a small part of the lane on its way to Langley Avenue from Tesco. while at the Londis end, one can change for a 151, 213, and 627. In addition, the 80 can be obtained from parallel Collingwood Road. To get to that, one can walk down the A217, one can go through "Collingwood Recreation Ground" or one can use an alleyway situated south of West Sutton station.
