The Future Dome is the name of an unrealised 303 meters high multifunctional sports and office complex to be built in Shanghai. The cone-shaped building, which is a combination of a stadium and a skyscraper, would have a 350 meter diameter and a 1,1 kilometre long circumference. The base of the cone would form a stadium with a capacity of approximately 80,000. On top of this a smaller arena would be placed for use of tennis and boxingmatches. On top of this a theatre would be placed followed by levels with conference rooms, a large pool, a hotel and office spaces. The mega structure is estimated to be complete before Expo 2010, the World's Fair held in Shanghai.
