FuelTrax

FuelTrax is a brand of marine fuel management system. It was developed and patented by Nautical Control Solutions, LP in Houston, Texas, USA and launched to the marine market in 2006. It received a type approval from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) in 2008. According to the ABS website, each product is tested extensively to verify that it will perform reliably in the marine and offshore environment.
FuelTrax comprises a marine hardened hardware and software architecture that is installed on commercial vessels. It incorporates various tank sensors and positive displacement meters or Coriolis-type mass flow meters to monitor fuel usage, propulsion system condition, vessel conditions, and crew behavior. It ties this fuel related data to date, time, latitude, and longitude so that patterns of consumption and behavior can be analyzed. It utilizes the Iridium satellite system for uploading and storing daily vessel operating data for viewing by shore-based personnel using a web browser.
The major functional areas addressed by FuelTrax include operational performance, marine engineering, management oversight, fuel theft accounting, and bunkering.
