Frying the coke

Frying the Coke is an idiom to describe a moment when a character of a motion picture uses an implausible item or action (usually an object of product placement) to overcome a dauntingly impossible scenario or feat that is usually overly done in its presentation.
History
On April 19, 2011, internet celebrity Doug Walker, popularly known as the Nostalgia Critic, released a movie review of the 1997 film Double Team. In the climactic ending scene of the film, an over-the-top explosion occurs within a coliseum in which the main characters use a Coca-Cola vending machine to protect themselves from the impending blast. Walker then declared the scene as to start a new internet meme, similar to other over-the-top situations in television and cinema such as Jumping the shark from Happy Days and "Nuking the Fridge" from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
The Nostalgia Critic described the action in his own words as "the ultimate in awesomely and laughably implausible".
