Freedom of expression app

Freedom of Expression App or FOE is a smartphone based app that helps to match two friends who shared a common liking towards each other. FOE enable user to express liking to another person without revealing it, thereby eliminating the possibility of being rejected or embarrassed. Users express their liking for one of their friends in the smartphone address book by doing a left to right swipe. When the other party did a similar expression, both parties will be informed of a match. The matching computation is performed automatically by server algorithm thereby relieving users the need to monitor the app all the time. In addition, statistics are available for users to serve as a reference on their chances of getting a match. The app is presently available in IOS version.
History
Introduced and released in Apple App Store in May 2014, FOE is designed for users above 17 years of age. Within a month, FOE was updated twice to version 1.20. The updated version introduced several speed enhancement, notetably images download and matching speed.
Features
As of June 2014, users are required to register an account using their phone number. FOE software automatically compares all the phone numbers from smartphone's address book with its central database of FOE users to automatically recognize the contact as an FOE user. FOE users will then be able to issue liking to their contacts who are FOE users as well. A liking issued by an FOE user will only be updated to the central database thereby ensuring the anonymity of the liking issued. Users may also vouch for his/her contact/friend as an affirmation of the user’s trust in the characters of the contact/friend. FOE is supported on iPhone running iOS 7.1 and above only.
Statistics including the number of profile views, matches and liking received are available for the users. In addition, the highest number of liking received, matches, vouch received and top profile views among the user’s contacts are also available for the user.
Users will be able to issue only one liking at a time. The liking can be removed and issued for an unlimited number of tries. In-app purchases that enable users to issue three, ten or twenty likings at the same time are available.
