Work in Queen Anne's County

Desiring to be closer to the Chesapeake Bay, Frank Kratovil and his wife, Kimberly Kratovil, moved to Queen Anne's County in 1997 where he was the Assistant State's Attorney before becoming State's Attorney in 2003. During this time, he was also the President of the Young Democrats of Maryland. Frank became President of the Maryland State's Attorney's Association in 2005. 2008 Congressional Campaign

Frank Kratovil came into the Febuary 12 primary as the favorite garnering endorsements from such newspapers as "The Baltimore Sun". He defeated closest opponent Chris Robinson by nine points in a primary that was considered much more civil than on the Republican side. Kratovil now faces off against State Senator Andy Harris in a district that is currently help by Wayne Gilchrest. While previous Congressional races in the district have been big victories, many in the district feel that Andy Harris is too conservative for the moderate first district. In addition to support from national Democratic organizations, many prominent Republicans have openly helped with the Kratovil campaign including some from Congressman Gilchrest's office. It is also widely thought that Wayne Gilchrest may break party lines and endorse Frank Kratovil, having been quoted as saying, "“Let's see, the Republican Party, or my eternal soul?" and ""Party loyalty, or integrity?” when questioned about who he will endorse.
