Franciscan Foreign Kindergarten

Franciscan Foreign Kindergarten was founded in 1975 with only 15 students and is located in Seoul, South Korea. It may also be known as an international kindergarten, due to its diversity in nationalities. It was one of the first Kindergartens in Korea that offered this level of education to foreigners residing in Seoul, offering classes mainly in the English language. It takes its name from the founder of the Franciscan Order, St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis was born in Assisi, Italy in 1182 into a rich family. Motivated by his ideal of love, he gave up everything he had to the poor and dedicated his life to those that were very troubled by wars and poverty. The Franciscans have continued this mission through the centuries and currently they dedicate their work to helping the poor, doing missionary work, and educating young people; especially the little. Their motto is LOVE FOR ALL especially the smallest.
Franciscan Foreign Kindergarten is located on the main Hannam-dong Street in Seoul, and its campus includes 2 buildings, spacious outdoor playground, 2 indoor playgrounds, wading pool, and a rooftop garden. The classrooms and school offer a child-centered and inquiry-based education for toddlers through kindergarten age children of the foreign community residing in Seoul.
The mission of Franciscan Foreign Kindergarten is mindful of the example of St. Francis, it wants to teach the children the love of nature, of all creation and of all people in the universal brotherhood
Its vision is to create a safe and loving environment, focusing on child centered education and enabling children to become confident global citizens.
Its values are the following: Love, Respect, Family, Safety, and Diversity.
