Summary Car jousting consists of two to three players competing in a joust at one time (3 way jousts are performed at a fork in the road). Two way jousts are preformed on a speedway, one of the players doe's a U-turn and goes the opposite way while the other goes forward. Both players stay very close to the outside of the track and smash into each other as a result. Rules The rules of car jousting are as follows: The competitors must both have the damage settings on simulation and have the same class cars unless you are in a free class tournament. Traditionally jousting is done between larger cars such as the land rover and the hummer but can also be played by any two cars. After the main collision the car that can achieve the highest speed is the winner. The games are a best out of three and the finals a best out of seven. Origin The origin of car jousting dates back to the original Forza Motorsport games, and while many seem to have a claim to faim, the true sport and rules seem to have originated in Vancouver, BC, Canada by two aspiring intellectualists by the names of Nico and Patrick. They were the ones who established a hard set of rules and requirements for achieving car jousting. They also held the first forza car jousting world cup in 2011 and both made it to the finals beating out 36 other competitors. Patrick won the very first tournament, but in the second competition was defeated by Nico in the semi-finals and Nico went on to win the cup. The next few tournaments were won by outsiders, and the most recent tournament brought out over 80 competitors. While the fan base for tournaments such as these is rather small, many smaller games are played all across the world.
