Foldabots

Foldabots are cardboard robots that first appeared in the May 2006 issue of K-Zone in the Philippines. They were created by Jomike Tejido, an artist and author in the Philippines. The Foldabots are based on Transformers and there are more than 40 Foldabots available. They are also available in K-Zone Australia and Malaysia.
Popular Foldabots are like Astig (Cool, Awesome), Karera (Race), Buhawi (Cyclone), Kislap (Sparkle), Liyab (Burn). Metrotren, Higantechron, Elementron, Aquatikron, Mikrokosmos are combiners of Foldabots. For some reasons, the Foldabots are translated to English names in Australia and New Zealand, like Karera (Race) was renamed Firedasher.
Foldabots comics are also available in K-Zone. In the issues the Foldabots are friends with three Filipino kids from the future era named Caloy, Miko, and Raya.
In the Foldabots Toy Book, it is revealed that the trio can make and fix Foldabots.
In the January 2009 issue of K-Zone Philippines, the Foldabots are printed now on cardboard.
Modes
The Foldabots also have a resemblance to existing vehicles or things. Sample modes that resemble existing vehicles or things are the following:
*Karera- resembles a Ferrari F2007.
*Patrol- resembles a Toyota Corolla Patrol Car.
*Kislap- resembles a Honda XRM Motorbike.
*Liyab- resembles an Isuzu or Mitsubishi Fire Truck.
*Metrotren- resembles the MRT.
*A Foldabot named Ukay resembles a Komatsu Digger.
*A Foldabot named Lupet is really a Sony PSP.
*A Foldabot named Kidlat is really a 8th Generation Honda Civic modified.
*An Elementrobot named Siklab is a Suzuki SUV.
*A Foldabot named Nuno is said to be Honda Jazz.
*A Foldabot named Pasada Resembles a present-day Jeepney.
*A Foldabot named Kapre resembles tanks from Transformers.
All Foldabots have a Life-Giving Agimat hidden inside their chests.
Becoming Known
The Foldabots became popular in 2007 when the Higantechron was announced, and the first Foldabot Fan Art was Adarna (Resembles The Ibong Adarna) Appeared in December 2006 issue of K-Zone .By 2007, more and more fan arts were given. In 2008 The official Foldabots website is released.
Foldabots Toy Book
The Foldabots toy book is released in October 2008 and has upgraded and carboared version of Foldabots.
Foldabots Dark Ages
The Foldabots Dark Ages are available in K-Zone January 2009 as mini figures in a game board.the gameboard was only available in the Dark Ages website.
Trivia
*In the comics the Foldabots were said speaking Filipino,but the bubbles are subtitled english,while the effects are Filipino sounds and expressions.
