Focus error

In photography, a focus error is an aberration of the autofocus (thus, the camera focuses a subject but the lens is not aligned correctly, causing a blurry image).
In digital photography, the focus error is especially an error message on Fujifilm FinePix digital cameras, usually caused by dirt in the lens mechanism. To avoid any further damage, the camera electronics totally disables the autofocus system and refuses to take any still image. If out of warranty, the repair costs can easily exceed US $100. However, other brands suffer from similar faults, like the Canon E18 error or the Nikon Coolpix SYSTEM ERROR, and some users manage to bring their devices back to life by disassembling and cleaning the lens.
This problem is sometimes caused by using a third party battery instead of a Fujifilm battery; it can persist for a while even when you return to only using the correct Fujifilm battery.
