First United Methodist Church of Lufkin

First United Methodist Church of Lufkin is a United Methodist Church in Lufkin, Texas. It was founded in 1882 and is currently located at 805 East Denman Ave. The church has a membership of over 2,000 and is the largest church in the East District of the Texas Annual Conference. On October 21, 2007 the church celebrated its 125th anniversary with a homecoming service. Former pastors Dr. Jack Shoultz, Dr. Jack Shelton, and Dr. Keith Whitaker all spoke of their experiences while pastors at Lufkin.

The current Pastor is Reverend Carol Clifford Turner, who has been pastor at the church since 2004. Former pastors include Dr. Rev. Keith Whitaker and Dr. Rev. Jack Shelton, who are a District Superintendent of the East District and the North Houston District respectively.
