Fern Bayer is a Canadian curator, consultant, and art historian from Montreal, Quebec. Bayer is the author of a catalogue raisonné of the works of General Idea. Education Bayer obtained a Bachelor of Arts in the Anthropology and Art History program at McGill University in 1971. The following year, she obtained a Diploma of Museum Science and Restoration of Works of Art at the in Florence, before completing her Masters of Arts at the Department of History of Art of the University of Toronto in 1975. Career Bayer served as the Chief Curator of the Government of Ontario Art Collection between 1977 and 1995.
