Fergus Hainkel and the Biscuit Boxes are an American Bluegrass band from Hamblen County, Tennessee. Founded in 1989, the band built a small, but loyal following by touring extensively throughout the American Southeast. Known for their unique live shows and the eccentric stylings of frontman Fergus Hainkel, the band has weathered a number of tragedies, including the amputation of mandolin player Chester Hewitt's index finger. The band's biggest hits include "Red Dirt Soup," "Tin Roof Blues," and "Untitled (Biscuit Boxes Ballad)". The band's remains best known for their album "Blue Grass, Red Dirt," and the notorious grammy snub that accompanied it in 1997.
