FCoTR

Fibre Channel over Token Ring (FCoTR) is a new protocol, first proposed on July 15, 2010 at the Seattle Tech Field Day 2010. It was first proposed by Ethan Banks, a well known industry veteran with many protocols under his belt.
Information about this protocol is sparse at this time, for obvious reasons, but there is a blog and an alliance already created.
Layer 2 protocol considerations
LLC2 transport over Token Ring ensures reliable end-to-end delivery on Layer 2, but is not used by FCoTR due to its small windows sizes and limited packet sizes. It has been decided to implement a totally new thin layer on top of 802.5 to decrease the end-to-end latency and increase the window sizes to values comparable to jumbo frames on Gigabit Ethernet FCoE implementations.
Layer 2 routing
FCoTR uses layer-2 extensions for IS-IS but adds Token-Ring specific Type-Lenght-Value (TLV) attributes. Use of IS-IS and TLV extensions compatible with other modern bridging implementations ensure seamless integration of FCoTR with other converged infrastructure Fiber Channel solutions (for example, FCoE with TRILL or OTV).
