FC Nomads of Connah's Quay are a football team playing in the Clwyd League 2nd Division. They began life in June 2009 after GAP Connah's Quay FC's proposed merger with local rivals Flint Town United. The merger didn't take place however the team has been set up to protect football in the Welsh town of Connah's Quay. Their first ever match was against Shotton Steel FC of the Clwyd Premier League, FC Nomads won 8-1. Their first ever competative match will take place on Tuesday 25th August away at local rivals Connah's Quay Tigers. FC Nomads are managed by former Connahs Quay Nomads FC player Dave Johnson and play at Wepre Park. There is currently a lot of talk in the press about possible legal action by the board at GAP Connah's Quay over the use of the name Nomads which was dropped by GAP Connah's Quay FC last season. official website
