Farman Nawaz is a freelance columnist from Pakistan. After doing masters in journalism in July 2000 from Peshawar University he joined The Frontier Post - a Peshawar based English daily- as a subeditor. It was the period when most of the staff of The Frontier Post had joined The Statesman. It was an opportunity for the newcomers to make a place for themselves in the newspaper but the traditional politics of newspaper offices made a hurdle in this way and most of the newcomers left the paper within three months. Secondly at the time journalism was not such a profession here in Pakistan that can fulfill the needs of newcomers whose families was dependent on them. After leaving the newspaper Farman Nawaz started writing Urdu articles but up till May 2009 not a single article was published. In June 2008 Farman Nawaz visited the Head Office of the regional newspaper Daily Mashriq and complained about their attitude of not paying heed to his articles. The Joint Editor of the newspaper took the article from his hand and threw it carelessly on the table. It was on June 1, 2009 when the Urdu Daily AajKal Lahore published the first article of Farman. But as his first article was published in Urdu he realized that Urdu articles can convey his message only to the people reading Urdu newspapers. Mostly he writes about regional politics and society. His target is to convince the regional countries like Pakistan, India, Iran, Afghanistan, China and Russia to form an Asiatic Federation - the only solution to deter US and NATO in the region. Consequently he started writing English articles and sent them to the leading English Dailies of Pakistan. In the beginning his articles were published in The Frontier Post but later on he started sending his articles to Asia Times Online and Daily Outlook Afghanistan. The Editor in Chief of Daily Outlook Afghanistan Dr. Yasa Ali Hussian appreciated his articles and guided him how to write for regional peace and security. Farman Nawaz mostly writes articles about terrorism, fundamentalism, regionalism, and wish to promote the concept of cooperation among regional countries. He wants to expose the real faces of the people who want to destroy the regional piece.
