| The following is a family tree of House Targaryen, a fictional royal family from George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels and novellas. As the former ruling dynasty of Martin's world of Westeros, House Targaryen's remaining descendants play an important role in the novels and the TV series based on them. Martin writes about earlier histories of the family in several novellas, including the Tales of Dunk and Egg series (1998-2010), The Princess and the Queen (2013) and The Rogue Prince (2014). In June 2016, the television series Game of Thrones established that the character Jon Snow is the child of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. |
