Fali R Singara

Fali R. Singara is a popular Indian radio jockey. He hosts the weekend shows on 107.1 FM in Mumbai and does celebrity interviews. Singara has in the past been on the editorial of numerous publications in India and directed a well-received documentary on Mother Teresa. He was part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's recent movie Guzaarish.
Singara did his schooling at The Cathedral & John Connon School in Mumbai. He did a B.A. in English Literature at Wilson College, where he was also the college magazine editor. Singara then went on to USC School of Cinematic Arts (formerly the USC School of Cinema-Television) in Los Angeles where he completed a directing/producing programme.
In the late 1990s, Singara started his career hosting and producing radio shows on Mumbai's 107.1 FM. He has also hosted programmes on All India Radio's 100.7 FM frequency as well as the local AM frequency. He is one of India's best-known English-speaking radio jockeys and has also interviewed a number of international pop and rock stars on Indian radio; the list includes Sting, Bryan Adams, The Rolling Stones & U2. In 2005, he was the first Indian Radio Jockey to do a show on Sirius XM Satellite Radio. On Elvis 24/7, he was live from Graceland, where he co-hosted the morning show on Elvis.
In 1998 he was part of the founding editorial team of the Indian music magazine The Record. Singara wrote the main cover story and interviews for the magazine for almost every single issue, till the magazine folded in 2008. Over the years he has done many interesting stories and interviews for various publications like The Times Of India, MidDay & DNA.
