Exploris Middle School

Exploris Middle School is a Wake County public charter school founded in 1998 for the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. Originally located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina across from Moore Square Park, in 2009 the school moved to a new location on Hillsborough Street a few blocks from the Capital. Exploris`s address is 401 Hillsborough st. Raleigh NC 27603.
The Exploris curriculum is interdisciplinary and theme-based. Teachers design each theme based on a combination of North Carolina's Standard Course of Study, global issues, student questions, and community connections. Because of the school's location, Exploris students become familiar with the vast resources of Raleigh and its surrounding communities, including museums, State government, universities, the performing arts, local businesses, the science natural museum. Community partnerships and culminating theme projects are central to Exploris' adolescent centered globally focused curriculum.
