Eva McConnell (born 5 May 1901) is the oldest person born in Australia after its formation on 1 January 1901. She was born in the state of New South Wales. There are three older persons living in Australia. Miriam Schmierer was born on 20 August 1899 in the colony of Queensland and currently resides in the state of Queensland. Mary Rothstein born 27 February 1901 was born in Russia and moved to Australia in 1958. Claude Stanley Choules born 3 March 1901 was born in the United Kingdom. Eva McConnell is a former Mumbil resident who grew up in the Wellington area. She is now living in Mollymook New South Wales. Mrs McConnell, who also had a brother who lived until he was 100, puts her longevity down to good wholesome food and a busy life. |
