Dr. Eugene J. McCullogh (born 6 October 1948) is the 7th and current President of St. Michael's College Enniskillen, educated in County Antrim, he was the President of St. Marys Secondary school, Irvinestown, County Fermanagh and the 7th and current President of St. Michael's College Enniskillen.He has also held the office of vice president of St. Mary's Christian Brothers Grammar School in Belfast and chancellor of St. Patrick's Grammar School.
Stance on school policies President McCullogh took office on September 1st 2007 and has since created a new system of rules in the school after teaching staff in the college complained about President McCulogh's predecessor Fr. McGuinness. The most controversial of all decisions taken by President McCullogh was the decision to cancel the year 12 formal in two consecutive years since taking office. It has also been claimed that McCullogh has unsuccessfully attempted to cancel the year 14 formal on two occasions as he believes the formals will be seen as a reflection upon the school and the teaching staff if the pupils became intoxicated.
McCullogh usually conducts the years 8 - 12 assembly twice weekly and he uses these meetings to enhance tougher policies such as uniform code etc.
First Lay Principal Eugene took office on the first day of September 2007 and therefore has been the first person to hold this position to date who has not been a Catholic Priest.
First Term In his term as President Eugene appointed Maris Mchugh as his Vice President and his Senior Management Cabinet consisted of Marie McKenna as Secretary of Post 16 studies, Mark Henry as Chancellor and Joanne O Neill as Secretary of Interior.
Second Term In his second term following the resignation of Maris McHugh as Vice President Eugene made history by appointing two Vice President who received a speedy ratification by the board of governors and Joseph Duffy the Bishop. Marie Mc Kenna and Mark Henry were appointed to the rank of Vice President with Marie McKenna as the senior vice president. Mrs Joanne O Neill was appointed as Chancellor, Mr. Frank Hughes was appointed as director of key stage 4 and Mr. Gavin Gallagher was appointed director of the interior.
