Ethics policy

An ethics policy for a company is a policy that companies create for themselves on how to operate ethically. It defines the company's ethical standards, and can include topics such as employee safety, interacting with customers, following laws, and avoiding questionable business practices. An ethics policy also explains what type of employee speech and behavior are accepted. Some also include information about company culture/mission statement, and processes for internal audits. It can protect brand reputation if followed correctly. When writing an ethics policy, it is recommended to keep it simple, with easy to understand language. An ethics policy is based on common sense, but it is not a replacement for common sense.
Ethics Codes and DEI
Ethics codes often state the company's view on DEI (diversity, equity, inclusivity). At the moment, some companies are changing their ethics policies to reduce the focus on DEI. Some companies have decided to complete eliminate DEI from their policies.
