Ethan Hastert

Ethan Hastert is the youngest son of former Speaker Dennis Hastert, and a former candidate for his father's former seat in the 2010 Republican primary election for Illinois's 14th congressional district.

Ethan Hastert entered the race for Illinois's 14th Congressional District in June 2009 to challenge incumbent Democrat Bill Foster. On February 2, 2010 Hastert conceded the primary race to State Senator Randy Hultgren.
Personal
Ethan Hastert was born and raised in Yorkville, Illinois and lives in Elburn, Illinois with his wife, Heidi, and son, Jack. Hastert has a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and a law degree from Northwestern University; he currently works as an attorney at Mayer Brown, a Chicago law firm.
While his father was Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Hastert was arrested and cited on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.
At the time he was working in the White House as Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff and National Security Advisor, Lewis Libby.
