Equicycling

The name Equicycling is short form of Equilibrium Cycling, this neologism, first added in language in 2010 by Dutch engineers with inventing new technologies of waste recycling, becoming more popular.
Equilibrium Cycling differs from current waste management technologies and philosophies like Cradle to Cradle, recycling (upcycling / downcycling) and waste to energy. In contrast to all the current waste management technologies, the waste treatment cycle of Equicycling knows a perfect balance (equilibrium) between the before part (waste) and the after part (raw materials / commodities). In the Equicycling process all raw materials in any type of waste ( plastics / metals / paper / ..) are transformed back into the original raw materials of refined quality.
For example, recovered paper can be “down-cycled” - used to make products of a lower grade of quality than the original material or “equicycled” - used to make products of a similar grade of quality, (the fibre length of the paper stays the same, paper do not loose quality).
And result of “down-cycling” would be office paper being used to make newsprint; in equicycling, office paper might be used to make quality copy paper.
