Epirotic refers to the language of the natives of Epirus (Southern Albania and NW Greece, and is a dialect of the Albanian language categorized as Tosk but also known as Arbërisht (spoken by the Arbëreshë, the Albanian minority in Southern Italy), Arbanitika (spoken by the Albanian minority of Greece called Arvanites), or simply Shqip (which is the name by which it is called by Albanians in Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia and Çam Orthodox Albanians of the Epirus periphery of Greece).
