Imperial continuation, or imperial loyalism, is the ideology that the British Empire should be re-established and continued. One of the founding groups of the ideology was the League of Empire Loyalists (LEL), founded by A. K. Chesterton in 1954. The LEL was a 'pressure group' which was opposed to the dissolution of the British Empire. Imperial continuation is closely linked with British Unionism; only differentiating on the subject of the continuation of the entirety of the imperial realms, rather than just the British Isles. A recent group has emerged in the West Midlands, United Kingdom known as the 'Movement for Ireland'. The Movement for Ireland is led by James Wills (believed to be a pseudonym) but has no active publicity. The group is very much unknown. Their demands are that 'Ireland become united under the United Kingdom', therefore returning to what was the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. As of yet, the ideology is not widely popular in the country.
