Emma Lucretia Dobbin was the mother of Sheridan Le Fanu. She was the daughter of William Dobbin DD and Catherine Coote. She stole from William Bellingham Swan (Assistant Town Major of Dublin) the dagger used by Lord Edward Fitzgerald to defend himself when he was captured. William Bellingham Swan's wife was Grace Coote, a first cousin of Catherine Coote. Catherine and Grace were nieces of and show the connection of the Le Fanu family to important ascendancy families. Emma Le Fanu was a writer.
